The Duncan MacRae bagpipes are exact copies of the original MacRae pipes played by world champion bagpiper Stuart Liddell.

The antique MacRae pipes were examined and measured by McCallum Bagpipes in order to craft an instrument with the sound Stuart desires. MacRae Bagpipes are also played by many accomplished pipers and are a well respected and sought after instrument.

The impressive SL0 model of MacRae Highland Bagpipe is made from African Blackwood, which undoubtedly is the most favoured choice of bagpipe throughout the piping community. African Blackwood definitely provides the instrument with stable but warm and rich tone. The SL0 model boasts both plain alloy and ofcourse imitation ivory.
